Online Debates And Presentations: Usually when debates or presentation activities are organised in offline classes, very few students participate in them due to shyness or stage fear. But in online learning students are attending classes from the comfort of their homes and they often feel safe and motivated to speak more and participate in such a favourable and encouraging environment. So teachers can organise online debates and presentation activities in which they can urge and encourage all students to participate. And when students participate in such activities and present their views, ideas and thoughts about their different topics and listen to other students; they get to know about various new information. And it also eliminates their hesitation regarding public speaking, making them great speakers.
Brainstorming: Listening to lectures continuously can make students feel bored and they can lose interest in the class. Instead of keeping them listening, teachers can make students brainstorm. Rather than telling students about their next topic, pose questions to the students related to the topic and engage them in probing-questioning. This will make students think and search for the answers, which is a far better way of learning than just sitting ideally and listening. Teachers can also ask students open-ended questions, which will make them reason their knowledge and develop their critical thinking skills.
Storyboards: Storyboards are a highly creative and engaging way to educate students, storyboards use a combination of texts and images to teach and inform students about various topics. Teachers can use it to evaluate the reading comprehension of the students. To make storyboard teachers need to create a digital template that they will share with students, students can download this template from the teacher app and get it printed. After that teachers will narrate a story to students in class or students can read stories on their own, and have to draw images of characters or elements that they can comprehend. Along with the images students are required to write captions (like in comics) to give additional or necessary information about the story. Lastly, teachers can tell students to show their storyboards in the class and discuss it with others.
Virtual Field Trips: During the pandemic, students cannot go to their schools, let alone on educational field trips. However, the development being made in the technological field is making anything possible, including a field trip for students. Teachers can organise virtual field trips for the students and can take them to nearby sanctuaries or ecological parks; teachers can organise this virtual trip using Google Earth and syncing it with their app to teach online.
Collaborative Projects: Making a group of students or organising collaboration activities are also creative ways to teach online. Teachers can create an assignment(including MCQs, true-false, fill-ups etc) or PPT on Google Docs or Google Slides respectively. Then instruct students to work on these assignments or PPT in real-time, this way students will interact with other students and teachers also get to evaluate their theoretical knowledge and technical skills.
