The purpose of staying clean and maintaining a new environment has always been a part of our lives. But, since the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become even more important, mainly for people who belong to an urban background. Even so, according to a report, almost 64% of USA residents are trying to live more sustainably.

Do you consider yourself to be one of them?

Well, in that case, the best way for you to get started would be to make little changes in your life. And in my story, I began my journey by using an organic detergent.

Let me tell you why.

Why Should You Use A Natural Laundry Detergent?

Since the beginning of the pandemic, I’ve switched to leading an organic lifestyle. Instead of polyester shirts, I started buying cotton dressing.

Also, I ditched chemical makeup and opted for the naturally-made ones instead. While I was at it, I thought about giving the prospect of using a natural laundry detergent a go. And, to tell you the truth, I wasn’t demotivated, not at all.

So, here I am, trying to convince you to go green with me as well. And here are some of the benefits you’ll experience while you’re at it.

Advantage – 1: Ideal For Your Clothing

Unlike a chemical-based detergent, an organic one doesn’t affect the binding of your clothes. This, in turn, can help you retain the color of your shirts for a prolonged period. In addition, there’s no need to worry about your clothing getting damaged at all.

Advantage – 2: Better For Our Environment

Using a chemical detergent can increase the risk of water and earth pollution to some extent. But, that doesn’t happen with a natural product. It can quickly get submerged into the earth and possibly improve its quality to grow trees or seedlings massively.

Advantage – 3: Does Not Have Any Bad Odor

A chemically-produced detergent comes with an aromatic overload that may overwhelm your sense of smell sometimes. Nonetheless, the natural detergents don’t carry the same scent at all, primarily due to their manufacturing formula. Hence, they won’t cause any foul odor.

Advantage – 4: No Unnatural Coloring

Having a bright blue detergent may seem quite a prospect at first. But, due to the coloring, it can create a bluish tint on your shirt and make it look cleaner without actually clearing it. On the other hand, a natural laundry detergent doesn’t come in any color and, therefore, will not affect your shirt’s quality anyway!

Advantage – 5: Gentle On Your Skin

Sometimes, even if you rinse your clothing correctly, a tad bit of detergent will still stay on it. Now, unlike a chemical-based detergent, a natural or organic product won’t affect your skin at all. Hence, if you’re already suffering from skin diseases like eczema, using an organic laundry detergent will be perfect for you.

Advantage – 6: Perfect For Babies

Until about two years of age, the skin of a child tends to be 20% thinner than an adult. Due to this reason, their skin has a sensitive aura to it. Hence, if you have a toddler in your house, it’s always best for you to opt for an organic laundry detergent. Also, while you’re at it, be sure to opt for something unscented. Otherwise, it might cause irritation for the child.

Advantage – 7: Excellent For Your Washing Machine

A biodegradable detergent can also be ideal for your washing machine. While using the same, it’ll dissolve much quicker than usual, especially in cold water. Therefore, it won’t cause any kind of blockage in the septic or sewer system. Additionally, a natural formula can keep the drum of your washer clear while washing your linen items.

The Final Say

It’s pretty obvious that using a natural laundry detergent is much better than a chemical one.

However, before you buy the product, you must check out the ingredients and see if you are allergic to any of them.

Besides, I’ll also ask you to keep an eye on the concentration of the product. If you have sensitive skin, it’s always better to opt for something that doesn’t cause excessive foaming.

Finally, as I’ve mentioned before, you should never buy a scented product, as they have a high risk of containing chemicals.

Just keep these factors in mind, and you’ll be good to go!
