Jacob Baime is the CEO of the Israel on Campus Coalition, based in Washington, D.C. The Israel on Campus Coalition—commonly known as the ICC—is a U.S.-headquartered pro-Israel umbrella organization founded in 2002. The organization’s CEO is a former grassroots campaigner turned prominent strategic leader.
In light of recent global tensions, the esteemed strategist and campaigner is prouder than ever to champion the vital importance of pro-Israel activism across America and worldwide. With that, Jacob Baime, ICC CEO, is eager to celebrate the latest and most pivotal elements of his organization’s work and that of his peers.
This tireless work, he explains, is shaping a vibrant future for Americans and Israelis alike, both nationally and internationally. It’s the same manner of work that’s been ongoing for over 75 years when, in 1948, the United States became the first nation to recognize Israeli statehood following the country’s declaration of independence.
Free Trade Agreement-Anchored Economic and Commercial Relationship
Since recognizing Israel’s independence in 1948, U.S. and Israeli officials have continued working together on developing mutual interests and promoting shared democratic values. That includes a robust economic and commercial relationship anchored by the 1985 U.S.-Israel Free Trade Agreement.
Annual bilateral U.S.-Israel trade is currently worth almost $50 billion. With that, the United States is Israel’s single largest international trading partner. Elsewhere, the two nations’ annual Joint Economic Development Group ensures economic cooperation, while various binational foundations coordinate all-important scientific and cultural exchanges.
These efforts have subsequently proved pivotal in shaping vibrant futures for both Israeli and American citizens, Jacob Baime reports. The Israel on Campus Coalition CEO leads the ICC’s 24/7 National Operations Center, tech-forward research program, field-wide collaboration platform, polling-driven Israel Communications Center, and more.
A Lifetime of Forward-Thinking Pro-Israel Activism
Schusterman Senior Fellow and Jewish National Fund Faculty Fellowship Committee member Jacob Baime is a lifelong advocate for strengthening strategic partnerships between the United States and Israel. Before joining the Israel on Campus Coalition as its CEO in 2013, he served as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s national field director.
As the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s national field director, he oversaw its various strategic initiatives and highly regarded training programs. During this time, he also served as an area director in the committee’s New England Region and as a political aide to the lieutenant governor of Massachusetts.
In each of these roles, and as a grassroots campaigner and activist in the years prior, the celebrated strategic leader has successfully promoted widespread pro-Israel sentiment. In particular, that’s pro-Israel sentiment focused on shaping a vibrant future for all.
Now, amid ongoing global tensions, ICC CEO Jacob Baime says it’s vital that pro-Israel activists and supporters continue to celebrate the importance of organizations such as the Israel on Campus Coalition and their efforts. The result, it’s hoped, will be a vibrant future for Americans and Israelis worldwide, both during the coming years and the following decades.
